Can anyone provide a summary of single click solutions

Post by greyman56 »

Hi All,

There seems to be a few solutions for single click server exe generation.

I would like to have the following:-
- be able to download the exe file and run it on windows 2000, XP, Vista
- either automatic connection or choice of destinations (2 click - grin)
- encryption for security
- small download
- latest stable version of uvnc

Would someone be able to summarise the solutions and give an opinion on which one might be best.

Thanks
Graham

Thanks for the links.

I was considering the various efforts mentioned in this forum like:
[topic=15675][/topic] - "I'm updating the old sc winvnc.exe (small one)" - is this a simple option that could do the job?
[topic=15552][/topic] - discusses the -sc option ... not sure if this is an option?
[topic=15638][/topic] - "VNC Proxy" - is this an alternative?
and this one seems to be the main one...
[topic=14809][/topic] - SCPrompt 2009 by vnc2me. Is this where everyone is going?

This is the comparison opinion I am after.

Cheers

I think SCPrompt2009 is the easiest SC-Version to handle if you dont want to code and compile something.
The great thing is that nearly every option is in an *.ini-file where you can change easily nearly every option.

If you want to have more features like little apps(witch you can download with the SC) or Service-mode then I would suggest the "UVNC-Helper". But here you have to look into the code and have to change many settings for your useage.

Thanks for the great tips Marc.

I noticed that the 2 authors collaborate in the forums as well. Very good sign.

I'll try both those solutions out to see which one is best for our situation.

Cheers

We are just both interested in making a great support app... John seams to have more time to develop than me at the moment ... he updates fanatically ...

we have had great support from uvnc devs, which has made or moderately good apps into great ones that match (or beat ?) the features of the original ...
