doe's SC use the latest server of ultravnc(1.0.6.4)?
Re: doe's SC use the latest server of ultravnc(1.0.6.4)?
no !
the sc uses a cut-down version of an old OLD server Version.
several applications use the latest server ...
uvnc helper
RAC
scprompt
each of these has its own benefits & downfalls ... (of course I prefer scprompt 2009 ... being the dev ... )
there is a comparison somewhere in this thread that should help ...

Re: doe's SC use the latest server of ultravnc(1.0.6.4)?
I'm working on fixing that. It uses the new server so the helpdesk.txt commands have to be edited to use -SC_* tags etc but it works as a drop-in replacement for the old one after changing the helpdesk.txt.JDaus wrote:no !

The menu looks and works nearly the same to avoid user confusion...
It's in testing now, image shown below...

I hope you working with rudi on this ... [topic=15675][/topic] as it would be a shame to have both of you put in lots of work on separate projects ...pgmoney wrote:I'm working on fixing that ...
but i am very excited to hear that this is happening, and will be pleased to see my efforts with scprompt become a waste of time ... (NOT really, but i am happy to see the original SC being updated ...
are you simply tagging the SC GUI onto the current source code ??? i am thinking this would be the best way to do it for future proofing the SC app. I say this, as then the code can be kept in one tree, and not end up fragmented and neglected like the current SC is ...
most people would not be too worried with an app thats 1Mb compaired with 300Kb of the old one, as most people have a broadband connection to do remote support, and if not, once it is downloaded once, it is on the computer, and can support all current features of UVNC server ...
Good on you for taking up this cause Phil ...

Re: doe's SC use the latest server of ultravnc(1.0.6.4)?
It's basically just a gui menu and command line option added to the server source The rest of the server is 1.0.6.4 with a few bug fixes. If helpdesk.txt exists or if ran with the -SC_Menu option it shows the menu. If no helpdesk.txt exists or if -SC_Menu isn't used it's just wivnc server with no menu.JDaus wrote:i am happy to see the original SC being updated ...

I only added the option to click the logo (bitmap button) or hit enter to connect because so many people complained about double-clicking the list. I didn't really see the need but did it anyway. The logo was the only place to put another button and still look like the original SC menu.
It should be useful for support on permanent installs where you can't open ports, not just as a singleclick app.
I think Rudi is only updating the old small one (that people refuse to let die) to disable/enable AERO which is already done in the source I sent you a few weeks ago (hopefully it could be used) and adding support for the mirror driver.

Re: doe's SC use the latest server of ultravnc(1.0.6.4)?
thanks for your answers
jdaus, thanks for the list of the other "single clicks"
"I'm working on fixing that. It uses the new server so the helpdesk.txt commands have to be edited to use -SC_* tags etc but it works as a drop-in replacement for the old one after changing the helpdesk.txt. "
when do you think it will be done?
will it replace the old one in the ultravnc SC page?
also, doe's the online creator will also change to fit your changes?
