unrelated to ultravnc, nor other vnc
this a windows function and blocked by firewall, security issue port 139.

But after lowering the firewall I’m still not able to enter a name into Leopard's "Connect To", only an IP address.
I have DHCP addresses from the router on the XP machines and they are always changing.

I can confirm i had same issue,
can't connect with hostname from xp/win7 to mac os.x leopard.
all are wired trough same switch/router/dsl all in one netopia vdsl2
