Mouse not working

Post by cybervnc »

Hello, I recently uninstalled V1.0.2 and installed version 1.0.6.4 on a couple machines. One worked fine, on the second one the mouse wouldnt work to control it. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling but same result. I connect fine, but no mouse.
On the third upgrade I was unable to update the ports to my custom numbers, however, after reading about that here in this forum I was able to use "uvnc_settings.exe" to change the port successfully....
I was unable to find a fix for the mouse problem however. Can anyone help?
Thanks

Re: Mouse BUTTONS not working

Post by cybervnc »

Thanks for your reply....
After logging in and using Ctrl-Alt-F3 I notice that the mouse pointer is actually working, the remote pointer is following my movement, however, when I click the mouse buttons nothing happens. I was able to determin this becuase using the above key sequence to toggle on/off, in one state the mouse pointer moves in the other state I just see a pinpoint move.....
So it appears to be just the mouse buttons that are not working, and the keyboard doesn't seem to be working in either state as well....

the computer have problem with mice.
is the user had set to inverse left and right buttton for left hand user ?

as well, you can delete saved settings, that same trouble
close vncviewer and restart the vncviewer.
check if there no error with template like filename.vnc

edit---
keyboard issue
is this computer use another language than on your vncviewer keyboard ?
if yes, both side must match same keyboard language
if problem about accent, try to enable Japanese keyboard (that mean only 102 keyboard)

Hello, thanks for the reply and all the hints.....
No, I have not set to inverse the mouse buttons, and the keyboard is and never has been set for another language.
It looks like only the part about deleting saved settings may apply to my problem. I am not sure how to accomplish the delete of saved settings or to check if there is a template error, I haven't customized anything other than the port number which is working ok since it does connect via my custom port.
The only other real factor here is that I had to install V 1.0.6.4 via Remote Desktop, uninstalling V1.0.2 first. I had done this on one local machine as a test and it worked fine, then did it on a couple remote machines and it worked fine, but on this one machine I had the problem with the keyboard and mouse buttons.
I had downloaded the Bozteck VENM Console trial and started looking into the deployement stuff but haven't figured that all out yet. I also noticed that the Bozteck VENM wasn't up to date with the VNC version, I think it is still using V1.0.5. I am wondering if anyone has experience with the VENM app and can fill me in on some tips on using it to deploy the latest version of VNC?

I just had this same issue and discovered that on the UVNC Server on the Admin Properties page there is a section labeled "Keyboard & Mouse". For some reason the Disable viewers input was checked. I unchecked this box, disconnected and reconnected and the mouse worked fine.

I had not even tried the keyboard but I'm guessing it would not have worked with this box checked.
