Limit to encrypted link, how to confirm encryption works?

Post by oliversl »

Hi,
I'm testing the Single Click client. I attached the rc4.key and the plugin in the .zip file that I upload to the creator.

When a clients connects to my uvnc client in (listen mode encrypted), how can I confirm that the encyption is endeed being used?

How can I restrict the clients so that I accept only encrypted connections?

Many thanks
Oliver

You should start the listening viewer with encryption option, something like:

Code: Select all

vncviewer -listen -dsmplugin MSRC4Plugin-122.dsm
Also, make sure the files MSRC4Plugin-122.dsm & RC4.key are at the same folder as vncviewer.exe

When the listening viewer is running, hoover the mouse pointer over the EYE icon at Systray, right click and select "New connection". The vncviewer GUI will then be opened. Inspect the "Use plugin" box, it should be checked, which means the listening viewer is using encryption too. The shown plugin file should also be the same as what you specified in the starting command.

You can further click the "Config" button, to check the key used is the one supposed to be.
