Roaming viewer

Post by xavier33 »

Hi. I have been testing UVNC for some days and there is one thing that I miss (or I can't find how to do it).
If I want to help my customers from my laptop when I am not in our office, how could I configure SC so that it asks my IP? After telling my customer my IP, he would use SC (or what you may suggest) so I can use his computer and help him.
I mean, I have seen that SC preconfigured connections always have a fixed IP and once compilled, it can't be touched but what happens when I am travelling? How can I connect to their computers without them having to install anything?

Thanks a lot and congratulations for a great product.

Sincerely,
Xavier

2 solutions

client dynamic dns service installed on computer where is installed your vncviewer but anyway, need port forwarding
with your sc with your helpdesk instead ip, you set as exemple: xavier3.dynamicdns.tld

or

UltraVNC 1.0.9.6.1 (built 20110518)
OS Win: xp home + vista business + 7 home
only experienced user, not developer

Thank you for the info.

I'll try the 2nd option first.

Xavier.
