Ultra VNC does not show full screen

I had recently installed this software and managed to get it connected. However , as my desktop is connected to my LCD TV , it has a resolution of 1920 x 1080.

My laptop have a resolution of 1280 X 800.

I am not sure if this is the root of the problem but apparently UltraVNC does not show everything on my desktop onto my laptop. My task bar is missing and the lowest point I can see on my laptop is a half cut folder.

The funny thing is that when i point my mouse pointer to the lowest point of the screen , which is the half cut folder icon on my laptop , the pointer is pointing to my start button on my desktop instead.

Also , there is a dot on my laptop screen which is diagonal to the pointer for my desktop. Meaning that the pointers are not calibrated.

I had tried to change the resolution of my desktop but it does not help.

Please kindly assist if you guys know any information about this.

you can use vncviewer directx
allow view full screen border to border with any size

If your server pc is Vista you need to select "use xp dpi scaling". Vista
dpi use internal a different resolution this fool the vnc server by telling
a wrong screen resolution.

Both of my computers are vista.

Also , I cannot find that option that you had mention despite that I would want to give it a try.

Hi , thanks for the reply. I had tried using the direct X one but still unable to get it to work ( as in the direct X function , not that it does not solve the screen problem ).

Oh.. i do get what u mean now. i do have a bigger dpi than usual because i cannot see the text on my screen.

I had not tried the solution yet . Will post again if this solves the issue.

Hi all ,

the problem is caused by the bigger than usual dpi. changing it to XP style however , does not solve the issue.

Nonetheless , I had decided to use a lower resolution instead of the bigger dpi. Thanks for the help !
