I use SC with my customers and it works great but with one customer of mine I am having a strange issue. As soon he connects me I see his desktop and then within a few seconds the connection drops. It happens everytime he attempts to connect me. Whats odd is it only happens with his laptop. His desktop works fine so its not internet connection related. It occurs whether or not his laptop is going wireless to his router or hard connected so its not wireless related. The other odd thing is that it works fine with the laptop when we tried it by having him connect to his neighbors unsecured wireless. It also worked fine when connected to a wifi at a nearby cafe. As near as I can figure there is some sort of issue between the laptop and his Actiontec DSL router since the problem does not manifest itself with his desktop. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance,
Adam

Its the GT704-WG
Remember, SC works fine through the modem when doing it through his desktop machine. Its only when we try through his laptop that the problem occurs and thats whether the laptop is connected to the modem via ethernet cable or wirelessly

Re: SC continously connects and then immediately drops
This is a spam new Vista based laptop. No security software installed except for AVG Antivirus. No changes made to anything related to network settings. Also, remember, SC works fine on this laptop when its connected to any other Internet connection but his but as I said I can't blame his Internet connection since SC works fine on his desktop machine which is going through the same router.

Re: SC continously connects and then immediately drops
ok, i think i found your issue
do you have vista sp1 or sp2 ?
(function of vista/win7)
network and sharing center
inside home, is set as home network or enterprise network ?
outside home, is on public network (unidentified network)
this could be related to active network preset

Re: SC continously connects and then immediately drops
I am sorry I did not get back to you sooner with the answer. Got sidetracked with other things. It is indeed Vista SP2. I think I know what you are talking about. It never dawned on me that those settings in Vista would be involved. I will definitely take a look at that. I assume u suspect the problem may be because it may be configured as a Public Network rather then a Home Network. Correct?
Thanks,
Adam
