Sending alt+prt scrn over a VNC link?

I'm trying to do screen (prt scrn) and window (alt+prt scrn) captures on the host VNC machine. At present the commands only capture my own desktop or the VNC session window on my local machine. I'm trying to make this happen on the destination system. Is there:

- A way to get VNC to pass these keyboard commands?
- A way to get the host machine to do window captures without these commands?

I'm at a loss. A few software solutions I ran across were bulky video capture type solutions that were way overkill for a simple alt+prt scrn copy window to clipboard type of thing.

Yes, no go, though ctrl+alt+F4 does not do the expected action either when I run viewer on this server 2003 machine...

I also tried viewer from a laptop (with windows 7) where ctrl+alt+F4 *does* work, and scroll lock has no effect on allowing prt scrn to pass to the server.
