Frequent disconnections using repeater

Post by cristobalmiguelo »

Hello,

I have the PHW repeater setup on the Internet in the following arrangement:

Repeater on dynamic IP that has a dynamic hostname. Repeater is a XP Home Virtual Machine in a Linux box that has all the ports forwarded properly.

When a server from the Internet connects to the repeater, it connects OK. I am then able to connect into the repeater with the viewer. But within a few seconds (sometimes minutes), the connection dies and I am left with the last frame from the server. Clicking refresh doesn't fix it. I need to close the viewer and let it reconnect.

I know that the dynamic IP doesn't cause a problem because the IP address hasn't changed in a long time and hasn't changed during this issue.

The server and viewer I am using are: PCHelpWare Rel 1.0.0. I have placed the newer DLL files into all the folders that had them. Somebody mentioned something about a newer version of PHW, but I don't see any official download links to them.

Any other ideas as to what may cause this?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Best,
Cristobal
