The program is pretty self explanatory to install - to set up and get to work over the internet that takes a bit more time and effort and some knowledge on your part depending on your situation.

Ahh yes the FAQ helps too - http://ultravnc.sourceforge.net/faq.htm

I think you may want to install this two computers on a LAN. Play with it on your internal network.

Then give us a bit more pointed questions on how the program works over the internet - including the versions of Server / Viewer you are using, The OS's of the computers, If the VNC program is set up as a service ect.
