VNC over internet
Also, I'm at school trying to access some programs/files at home. We have a proxy server, and Cyber patrol preventing me from using www.logmein.com. How do I get this thing working? I have the server at home. It was the only thing that I installed, and now at school, i have the repeater and the viewer yet I have seen no luck in trying to get this working. What do i do next?
show you how to do it, No; but I can help if you have specific questions.Guest235135 wrote:Can you show me how to do it? Black05@gmail.com
The devs did a pretty darn good job in the install documentation.

as far as bypassing your proxy - options are to utilize ports already open that do not currently go through the proxy. Most cases none are open by default if using a proxy. The reason being the network admin wants you to go through this proxy for tracking.
I would suggest trying to run VNC over port 21 for ftp... or 23 for telnet... those are sometimes open by admins because most average users have no idea what they are and how to use them.
To test the ports out the only way I can suggest is just trying. If you can not use the proxy going to a website that tests open ports will not help. If you have a website or something of that nature you could always telnet into the website.. e.g. command prompt ftp www.yourwebpage.com if it queries you for username password most likely it will work.. but you have to on the other end at your home computer either set up port forwarding for the port 21 to go to port 5900 on your computer you wish to have it on.
The toughest thing is to show people how to use this program when, devs please correct me if I am wrong, this program is intended for people that have control over their network / computers / internet connection. Not for those to try to circumvent security practices in place by a corporate, school, or anything else...
