UltraVNC over VPN connection

Post by Spangster »

I am using Ultravnc to get to a 16 bit app on a Windows 2003 server. Works fine on a LAN. From home, across my VPN access into our network, I get a black screen when I access the other server.

It seems like it is connecting, but I cannot see the screen. In the office, however, I can see the screen just fine.

Please help.

Thanks.

I use a VPN from home to do similar things for work (On servers and on desktops).

I dont have any issues with the viewer.

Since it works on the LAN it should work from home also... Granted I dont know what kind of VPN you are using and if for some reason it may be blocking it?

Solution over VPN

The issue wa stupidity on my part. The remote machine had had its blank screensaver kick in, and this made the screen black. I disabled the screensaver and have successfully used it over a VPN. Sorry for the trouble.
