Vista Access via XP

Post by microair »

Hi,

I am newbbie to this tool. I was told this is a much better replacement of the Remote Desktop that comes with Windows. I have installed the latest version on Vista 32 bit home premium. I set it up as a service. Both the viewer PC and the Server are on the same network. I am able to connect to the server the only problem is I can't do anything after. I can't click on any application or open any software ... basically I have no access to the remote machine. Am I doing something wrong or this tool is just a viewer?

Thanks for your help.

Not sure I understand this instruction. I have the viewer up on my XP machine and I can see the Vista machine desktop where the VNC server is runnng but when I try and open something on the Vista machine from the XP machine I see no results, but when I look at the Vista machine it has actually opened the folder or program I asked for from the XP machine.

What I am doing wrong ?

spaberlejr, try to change "server screen updates handling" on Properties (not admin properties) on client.

E.g., try to uncheck "poll on event only".

Thanks for your help but I do not see this option anywhere. When you say client do you mean the viewer ? or the server ?
