Questions
Version of UltraVNC?
Running as a service?
Can you connect to the same server when it is not locked?

If the running as a service is no, try installing that. Rebooting the server machine and before logging in to it - connect to the server name or ip. If you can log into the machine like that then you should be able to lock it. Exit out of your connection and then re-log in while the console is locked.
