Whip cream or cool whip?
Would help if you listed your needs or wants, expectations of the application.

Re: PcHelpware vs UltraVnc Single Click
no Whip cream and no cool whip
as i understand they both do similar things but since PcHelpware still in version 1 not sure new updates are being implemented in PcHelpware or SC
don't want to invest time in one or another if one or the other one is not going to be updated

Re: PcHelpware vs UltraVnc Single Click
since any freeware or open source,
you can never count about warranty of any update,
that also apply for commercial product if the programmer left enterprise and no new programmer don't know the old software made previous programmer.

if you prefer VNC compatible,
use SC
a lots of users/programmer have made some improvement for be compatible and more easy to make your own single click and more friendly interface.
most actives and free for non commercial usage

freeware.
since uvnc 1.0.5.3, their have winvnc sfx creator with password protected for your own custom SC with tool called uvnc_settings.exe (from Start menu... UltraVNC...Edit Settings)
most active and open source

Re: PcHelpware vs UltraVnc Single Click
good round up redge ...
its really a matter of choice,
pchelpware is freeware developed by one of the UVNC devs (and is only freeware because he uses some comercial code to make it, otherwise i'm sure he would have made it opensource). and by all accounts it works great with minimal learning needed.
UVNC SC is opensource, and therefore (in my opinion anyway) more likely to be updated or added onto (just look at me with vnc2me). but it needs port forwarding setup, currently doesn't support vista well, and needs a bit more lovin to get going
these are my thoughts on it (but please note, i have tried pchelpware only the once ... so i really can't compaire)

Re: PcHelpware vs UltraVnc Single Click
If you want absolutely no installation/configuration use PCHelpware! Trust me. Because it has a built in video driver the performance is much much much better. This is by far the best way to go, for example, if your supporting remote clients randomly without having to pre-install/pre-configure anything on the remote client PC beforehand.
UVNC SC works almost as well but ONLY if you pre-install the video driver. With PCHelpware you do not have to do that. It has a vide driver built in to the executable. All the client has to do is click a link on a website and run the executable.
I've used both and it's a no brainer performance wise. PcHelpware is the way to go.
Now just to complicate things. PcHelpware has not been updated in some time and there are new issues with Vista UAC blocking access. I see Rudi has updated VNC SC to deal with this but no such updates for Pchelpware.
