Java connection setup

Post by eddie4 »

Hello i was wondering if some one could explane this to me. what ports are needed to run javaviewer. And do these change to the ports that are in the settings?

because I have the fallowing settings

VNC port: 80
http port: 443

I have no problem connecting to the webpage http://page:443 but the connection still seems to time out. I think this is because the javaview is still trying to connect trough default ports is this so? and if so is there another way to get connected? proxy doesn't allow for caps programs where i can tunnel normal vpn trafic trough

The reason for these weird ports is a firewall that doesn't allow me to connect to the default ports.

After some more debugging it turns out it i does try to connect to port 443. But it does this as java and that one doesn't use the proxy settings.

Any one have a idea how to correct this?

http://www.java.com/en/download/help/5000020600.xml
does not correct this

Edit

installed Isa server client to force java trough the proxy this works. but dam spent my entire day on getting this 2 work
