I created SC with encryption, when I start server and viewer I get message on server that it connected, however, viewer does not show any picture of remote PC.
That tray icon does not work on right click anymore.
I checked all files 10 times and can not find any problem. I created rc4.key and copied to both places...anyway it server report that its connected encryption should work ok.
Im testing both computer in LAN enviroment.
Thanks in advance for help.

Re: Everything OK, nothing to View :(((
Hm, even if no reply is here it looks to me just the same way I have a problem here (see [topic=14716][/topic]) - connection seems to be established (the SC server side says so...), the viewer's icon is dysfunctional an no screen / no question "... wants to connect..." is shown.
Looks somehow also a bit like the problem described for Ubuntu (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+sour ... bug/123631), other users seem to have the same problem for Debian.
Anyone any other idea?

Not only the rc4.key must be the same, you must be using the same version of dsmplugin for both ends.zaoka wrote:I created SC with encryption, when I start server and viewer I get message on server that it connected, however, viewer does not show any picture of remote PC.

Reference [topic=12187]SC with MSRC4Plugin[/topic] to see if you fall into this problem.
Re: Everything OK, nothing to View :(((
OK, sounds simple for the encrypted mode.
But I also have the same problem for not encrypted connections; the behaviour is pretty much the same - nothing is shown, no question to allow the connection and so on.

Have you turned off the firewall when doing the test?arctos wrote:But I also have the same problem for not encrypted connections;
Some firewall will not shut down completely if you turn it off at its control GUI, many of them require reboot the pc
Re: Everything OK, nothing to View :(((
I've got the same problem. With non encrypted connection.
- I start vncviewer -listen first
- I run SC and choose connection, SC reports connection ok
- viewer doesn't show anything except for small few pixels high line on the top of the screen (it looks like viewer top bar before opening - sliding down), and viewer is "dead".
Something is wrong and I don't know what....

Re: Everything OK, nothing to View :(((
Sounds identical to my problem. When a connection has been established nothing happens when clicking the systray viewer icon (unless closing the connection on the SC-side, which results in a bunch of vncviewer dialogues to pop up, the number of which depends on how many clicks where made). Holding the mouse over the thin line on top of the screen shows the hour glass. Windows 2003, correct port forwarded from router to viewer and no firewall issues (the proof of which being the fact that both computers say there is a connection established).Aspirin wrote:I've got the same problem. There are variations of behaviour from time to time and variations depending on whether rc23 or rel1 version is used, but in general it's identical to Aspirins description.
