Best way to config multi user network for remote support

I'm reconfiguring one of my customers network and installing UVNC on all the computers so I can do remote support. I'm wondering the best way to do this and would like to get opinions?

Ultimately, what I want is to be able to select which PC from my office and connect directly thru the router. I'm not sure if a VNC manager would be option or not.

So far, I have decided that Static IP are the best way to do this for the router? Is there a better option?

Then I've put in a Port Forward for each PC. First one is port 5800, next one 5801 and so on... I'm wondering if I should make the port to forward to all 5800 so I don't have to change all the ports on the clients.

Is there a better way to do this?

Yes, it is best for each client PC having a static IP, then you can access them via UVNC by using their specific IP.

Yes, that's correct. But 5800, 5801 ... are supposed used for JAVA viewer, so if you use ordinary vncviewer, you need to config them to use 5900, 5901 ... and so on, and then you need to have a match port forwarding setting at router to forward the specific signal to the corresponding pc.

In fact, even using JAVA viewer, you still need to forward 5900, 5901 ...too

No, you are unable to do so.
For any port, you are just allowed to forward to ONE pc.

Is there a better way to do this?

If you have just a few computers to work with, it is OK to use different ports for each of them, and make the port forwarding at router.

But if you have some more (say 50 pc), it is not practical to make the above-mentioned arrangement (and even impossible to have so many port forwarding definition setted at router).

In this case you should setup a repeater (working at Mode I) inside your client's network, such that you just need to open one single port for the repeater (default 5901), and all other pc just use th default 5900. Of course, snce all connect must pass through it, the repeater must be a Non-Stop system so that you can connect to any other pc at anytime.

Be remind, the repeater only supports the oridinary vncviewer.

Actually, I'm already running into the router forward problem. I have about 15 computer and only about 10 port forwards entries.

I've never understood the repeater concept!!! With the Repeater scenario how do you specify a specific computer?

Could you explain this concept a bit more?
