No connection could be established

Post by simpsonetti »

Hi, i caought attention to UVNC SC by a artikel in a german IT-Article.
This article shows how easy to build up this method to get remotecontrol of a pc.

So i thought to build this connection too:
i build a SC.exe with a dyndns-host, right port (other than 5900) and all other necessary settings.

Here at home i configure my Router with the dydns-host, the port i use in SC.exe and forward it to my PC. Every setting was as like the article and other documentation shown .
I have the Viewer in listend mode on my port i use in sc.exe and use in my router. So it have to be right.
But when the sc.exe started, nothing happend. The message would be shown:"if in 5 minutes no connection will be established, programm will be closed".
I use here XP PRO with SP3 no firewall on my PC, Router is fine configured.
Are there any hints to look for ? i doesn't know where i have to look else than all settings again and again.

1st
try standard port 5500 for reverse connection
if work, then you can pass next step to try another port.

so, i changed settings: port is now 5500 but i have the same problem: no connect (my viewer is listening on port 5500, and router do portforwarding 5500 to my static lan-ip)

sometimes the message will be shown:
-connect domain.dyndns.org -noregistry

any hints ?

Here are some suggestion.

1. Make sure the firewall is turned off.
For many firewall, turn it off doesn't effective immediately, and you must reboot to make sure the internal is shut down.

2. At viewer pc, verify if it cn hear signal from internet
  - Run the vncviewer.exe at listening mode (assume the default 5500)
  - Open I.E, and visit this site: https://www.grc.com/x/portprobe=5500
  - If the returned page show status to be "OPEN", then that's OK (at this moment, the vncviewer will popup a connection fail message too, as the signal it received is not VNC signal). Other than "OPEN", that means the vncviewer can't hear its signal from internet, check the firewall, antivirus, port forwarding setting again.

ah okay, i test connection wirh die adress you gave and the result is:
Port Status Protocol and Application

5500 Stealth fcp-addr-srvr1 fcp-addr-srvr1
(Green)

But it doesn't changed color if change the setting in my Router.

I haven't a firewall here on my PC. WindoesFirewall is disabeld in controllcenter.

So i have to check, why my Router (AVM 7170, http://www.avm.de/en/Produkte/FRITZBox/ ... index.html )
dosen't work with portforwarding.

I googled for your mentioned model, and found this manual:
www.voiptalk.org/products/pdf/manual_7170_english.pdf

Hmm... but I didn't see any information regarding port forwarding for this device. :|
But may be this is not exactly yours.

It looks good, and that means the listening viewer is running on the pc with IP 192.168.178.20, right?

I suggest to check following:
1. Create a SC.exe which connect to local host, and run it at the viewer pc, to see if the viewer can get the signal.
  The helpdesk s/b like this:

Code: Select all

.........
[HOST]
To Local Host
-connect 127.0.0.1:5500 -noregistry

.........
.........
It is even better if you can have two computers connected to this came router, so that you can test the connection under the same LAN

2. Check if your router having any firewall setting that may block the 5500 signal.

3. Check your Internet Service Providor, to see if they will block the 5500.

i do following actions:

create a 127.0.0.1 SC.exe to connect localhost- this works !!
create a 192.168.178.20 (same ip as listend PC) SC.exe - this works !!
create a domain.dyndns.org -- this didn't work. so connection will be come through my router. My router is still blocking my connection from outside. the port is still open.

i'm contacting my router-manufactor !

domain.dyndns.org
2 possible issues
1. human error (wrong username/password set to your dyndns account on your router.
check you dyndns account is show your correct ip

2. bug of router don't properly update your ip or banned (to much update), so there no more redirection allowed.
