Hello everybody,
I dealed all the day to get everything around UVNC SC up & running, but I'm still missing to point about how to get the helper side to see something
I followed the step-by-step-instructions on the web site (+the FAQ entry [topic=3278][/topic]); the connection seems to work - but I cannot see anything. As soon as the connection seems to be established, the icon in the systray (WinXP) shows no context menu, I'm not getting asked if I want to accecpt the connection, I get no screen.
The only thing I have is a 1-pixel bar on the very upper part of my desktop; approx. filling 75% of my screen's width. When pointing the mouse over it, the cursor switches to the hourglass, but I cant do anything useful
Does anybody has an idea how to get rid of this?
Thank a lot!

UVNC SC: Can't get helper side to show anything
Re: UVNC SC: Can't get helper side to show anything
Hm...still got no clue how to do this. I tried both v1.0.5 and 1.0.2 vncviewer.
Any idea somebody?

Re: UVNC SC: Can't get helper side to show anything
New note: Looks somehow also a bit like the problem described for Ubuntu (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+sour ... bug/123631), other users seem to have the same problem for Debian.
Any idea, somebody?

Re: UVNC SC: Can't get helper side to show anything
I think your problem might be with encryption. Right click on the SC icon in the lower tray then click Close in the pop-up menu. Then go to the system running the Viewer. If you see an error message re a missing DSMPlugin, then your using encryption with the Viewer and not with SC, or visa versa. It could also be that your encryption keys don't match, if you're getting the same error message but know the correct plugin exists on both sides of your attempt to connect. That thin line you see at the top of your screen shows that an attempt to make the connection is being made, but the handshake can't be completed. I hope this helps.

Well, me and a lot of other people have the exact same problem:Bill H wrote:I think your problem might be with encryption. However, your answer here helped me solve the problem. A look inside the SC-file (7z or your favorite ziptool) showed that the DSMPlugin included there is NOT the same as that installed by uvnc-installer or the ones available for download from the DSMPlugin-site.
So, to solve the problem, extract the DSMPlugin from the SC-file and start your viewer with that plugin instead. At least that's what solved my problem.
It also seems you can include your own DSMPlugin in the upload file which could be another way to ensure that the DSM-files match.
