help on personalising the text file in custom.zip

Hi,
having used the 'Creator' program, I have managed to install SC onto a test laptop, but as hard as I press the buttons, I just cannot get the viewing computer to connect to it! I suspect my code is wrong, having not personalised the sc 'text' file correctly. Could anyone give me a simple step by step guide on how to personalise the code, and enter the correct IP address etc, etc.
