Thanks

Connection closes immediatly after (succesfull) connect ...
Re: Connection closes immediatly after (succesfull) connect
i've been trying to figure this problem out for 2 days now, the only way i can connect is if the computer does not ask for password after it resumes from screen saver, is this the way VNC works or is there some kind of solution to this because i need the security to password protect after a screen saver resume
if anyone has any info would be greatly appreciated

Re: Connection closes immediatly after (succesfull) connect
i can get you one step closer but problem persists, under the server properties uncheck the box that reads video hook drive
i dunno if its coincidence that the connection hangs longer for me or if its part of the solution

ok got it,
uninstall VNC and down load the 1.0.5 version and select the option register as service and it should work. GL

Re: Connection closes immediatly after (succesfull) connect
I have read these forums, and tried everything that i can from them..
and i have a very similuar problem:
I connect fine, it shows the "Connection POPUP", and then automatically DISConnctects me.. the screen briedlfy flashes about 3 times (barley noticable), and also the uvncViewer is unloaded. automatically.
wierd thing is, i CAN access, VNC, from the WebBrowser (alternative port)
everythign is fine. I just can't get the Desktop Single-Click to actually work.
I have downgraded, and reinstalled, firewall & router are all good, afaik!
ANY suggestions, I have had this working months ago with 1.02, and I am currently trying to work with 1.02 as well, since i know that it can work.
THANKS!!! ! !

Re: Connection closes immediatly after (succesfull) connect
I've had exactly this problem on Windows Vista. At first I thought I had it totally solved as sphor says by changing the port assignment from 'Auto' to the fixed 5900/5800 options. (Guessing that maybe with the 'auto' option turned on, you get enough of a connection between the viewer and the server to initially draw the desktop, but then the server tries to change ports and perhaps falls foul of a firewall issue or something like that?)
Tried it a bit later and then it had stopped working again - seems that I can make a stable connection via the Java viewer, and I can then connect OK with the viewer at the same time as the Java connection is open, but after that, it reverts to not working again.
Weird. Going to fiddle some more..
LATER: Just uninstalled 1.0.5 and installed 1.0.2 instead. That seems to work OK, so I'll stick with that for now.
