Banging my head...

Post by 22AM »

...on the wall with this. Could someone please open my eyes..

I can't get SC to work on my LAN but normal VNC server and viewer work fine on both 5500 and 5900.

My helpdesk.txt looks like this:
[HOST]
Double click here
-connect 172.30.254.253:5500 -noregistry

Any ideas?

Many thanks
Amanda

hi

it seems to me you use a intern ip ? use the internet IP look at myip.com for your ip adress

i supose you have the helpdesk.txt oke ,
nou did you made a SC file ? ( single click file just 226kb ! )

if you set the port oke then copy the sc file you made to the remote computer then double klick to start it up, after that click support without encription or you must have the plugin also in it,
after you double click internet remote support go to the vnc viewer computer and if it is oke you should see a alert box that : computer name and ip wants to connect clik it and you in ,

best regards , Paul

yes, sent the client server over the internet back to you it will work
so
helpdesk.txt
[host]
connect here
-connect 250.250,250.25 :5900 -noreg--- ( is your wan ip )

and you must use the viewer in listen mode !!

My LAN isn't on the internet, does it need to be?

I can't understand why normal VNC server and viewer work but SC doesn't.

I've tried viewer in lisen mode.

?

Thanks
Amanda

hi

show me your helpdesk.txt

VNC viewer not with plugin

dit you give the viewe a password ?

http://www.uvnc.com/pchelpware/sc/index.html

How to create my own version?
1) Download custom.zip

2) Replace the icons ,bmp and rc4.key file with your own version
++Bmp need to be a windows bitmap, max colors 256, size 196x181 (16colors --> smaller size)
icons, standard window icons only 32x32 standard is needed
The bigger the icons and bmp are, the bigger the final result, the final result is 166k + compressed zip file
SAME NAMES MUST BE USED.....logo.bmp icon1.ico icon2.ico

3) Replace the rc4.key with your own version or remove the rc4.key if you don't wish to use encryption
To create your own key you need the normal UltraVnc version and dsmplugin.
The config button of the dsmplugin allow you to create another key.
SAME NAMES MUST BE USED..... rc4.key

4)Helpdesk.txt Information

5)Color background:
You can add a color background by adding a file background.bmp to the zip file
Size 1x283, this bmp is stretch as background
Sample 1, Sample 2, Sample 3, Sample 4

6) Create a zip File from the files you want to customize
minimum: helpdesk.txt
maximum helpdesk.txt rc4.key icon1.ico icon2.ico logo.bmp background.bmp

MYCOMPANY.zip or jsdgf654324f.zip
Use something unique, else 2 custom versions could get mixed
DON'T use .(dot) in the name: sample WWW.XXX.zip

7) Click Creator in left panel
login: foo
password:foobar

http://support1.uvnc.com/cgi-bin/upload3.pl <---- your custum.zip file to make a personal client

read there to make one

Win32 UltraVNC 1.0.5 Setup this one is working fine not the 105.3 or 2

go to the download page and reinstall it

best regards, Paul

Thank you Paul, you have been very helpful.

I tried using a completely different PC on the LAN and VNC Viewer worked on there with both VNC server and Single click.

So it was the firewall on my PC (Comodo) - it allows VNC Viewer to work with the VNC server but not Single click (Listening mode).

(I originally didn't think it was Comodo because I switched it off and it made no difference but actually if you switch it off and restart VNC viewer then it does work).

I am having a hard time configuring Comodo to work with VNC viewer in listening mode, it seems to block it no matter what I do. At least I know which wall I'm banging my head on!

Thanks again,
Amanda.
