i just want to know if there is a chat only mode - so that i can't see the display of the other PC - but only the chat window...

yes you must click icon on toolbar 3 icon counting right to left then select then you will see cursor is now a circle just click any active window you wish to see and ignore all others
to return to normal is icon before the chat icon.
