SC + Vista = Slow?

Post by ZzBloopzZ »

I am running XP Pro on my main PC using the latest UltraVNC v1.0.5.1. I recently formatted and noticed that when I connect to a Vista computer, it is VERY slow! Takes few minutes to update... even on LAN.

It was nice and quick before the reformat. Is there some kind of setting I have to do? I do have hook driver installed but it shows up as "Inactive"

I would be grateful for any feedback!

Thanks

Possibly your antivirus or the indexing service is causing this.

Indexing service is disabled and my AV does not check network apps, but I'll try disabling it next time and see.

Thanks!

You may also want to update your machine's video drivers as well. I've seen instances where the video looks really choppy on VNC, and upgrading the drivers on the viewer resolved this.
