SCSafe - SC/SCIII Safe Mode

This tool, together with your indepth explanation of the safe mode boot process of Windows in this thread, is one of the most useful knowledge I learned from internet.



I have not tried SCSafe yet, but I want to ask a question.

Use:
Get a copy of SCSafe.7z from https://sites.google.com/site/twconnor/ ... edirects=0 .
Create and test a SC/SCIII that will automatically connect. Name it SCSafe.exe
Make a connection to the system you want to SC in Safe Mode (SCSafe)
You must have administrative rights
Copy your SC/SCIII to the root of the system drive (Normally C: \) Your SC/SCIII must be named SCSafe.exe
Execute SCSafeSetUp.exe on your clients computer. You will be prompted to continue and a GUI will guide you through the configuration. Optionally, you can execute SCSafeSetUp with a -silent command line parameter and SCSafeSetUp will run with defaults without prompting.
Your clients computer will reboot into safe mode and run your SC.
You will normally be confronted with a Yes/No screen for safe mode upon reconnect.
Upon disconnect computer is reset and rebooted.

At this step, does this mean the SCSafe.exe has been running, and making the connection already? So that I will see this Yes/No screen at viewer side ?

Thanks for the explanation again. This is really a very helpful information.

I used to believe Windows will alway stop at this step and require a manual response. In past I had tried to run some program at safe mode unattended, but failed to do so as I didn't know how to suppress this message.

Regarding the SCSafeProcess.exe, does its function is solely starting the SCSafe.exe? Or any other thing else?

Will you consider provide a download link & description of its usage for SCSafeProcess.exe too?

SCSafeProcess.exe is installed by SCSafeSetUp. It is included in the main file using FileInstall, so you already have it.

SCSafeProcess.exe:
Starts SCSafe
Resets boot options
Disables autologin
Cleans up after SCSafe
Returns Windows security to previous settings
Triggers a reboot on SCSafe exit

Thanks for the detail explanation.

I'm using the PcHelpWare as the remote helpdesk tool, and I hope it can reconnect to the viewer automatically when reboot into safe mode.

As Windows always stop with the "yes/no prompt" before entering safe mode, so far I don't know how to solve this problem. I used to believe that this cannot be overcome.

Your SCSafe showing me there is a possible solution, and I'm thinking if I can make use the SCSafeProcess.exe to achieve this when using PcHelpWare ....

I don't understand the use directions.

As far as I can understand

1. The download file SCSafe.7z has in it SCSafeSetUp.exe
2. It says to put my copy of SCSafe.exe in the root.
3. Execute SCSafeSetUp.exe on your clients computer

Questions:
1. Where can I get SCSafe.exe? It's not in the download.
2. Does SCSafe.exe go into the local PC or the remote PC?

as the instructions say, create an sc that automatically connects when run, and name it scsafe.exe ...

do you want to put local or remote pc into safe mode ?

all files are to be run / installed on remote pc, viewer is only thing needed to be run on local pc. this is not a client/server application, it does no network communications ... it just sets up and runs scsafe.exe in safemode.
