Sc started by commandline / script

Post by walhalla »

hi,
my problem: sometimes i should connect to a machine (windows xp) which is behind a firewall and it is impossible to change anything regarding this. most times there is nobody at this machine. so no user-(inter)action is possible.

my idea: something like a cronjob on this machine, which starts a connection i.e. every 30 minutes. if i need a connection to this machine, i start the vncviewer (listening) and have to wait for max. 30 minutes.

i tried to start winvnc by commandline -> winvnc -autoreconnect -connect ip:port, but i cant get any connect.

any ideas? any hints to solve my problem. any way wich works is welcome.

thx in advance

jens

the SC 1.0 winvnc do not know autoreconnect (removed function)

you should try this solution.

Which tool did you try to use? UntraVNC or SC?
They are different. From your test, it showed you were due with UltraVNC.
In order for your mentioned script able to make a connection,

either:
- The UVNC has been installed, configured, and started as a service.
- run the CMDline: winvnc -autoreconnect -connect ip:port [ENTER]

or:
- You hasn't installed UVNC in this server, then you need to start the UVNC engine first, i.e:
Open a CMD window, goto the UVNC folder, run these two command:
winvnc.exe [ENTER] (start the VNC engine in application mode, EYE icon will then sit on SysTray)
winvnc.exe -autoreconnect -connect ip:port [ENTER] (this will make the connection)

If you want to use SC, then that's another story.
