Post by redge »

viewer: xp home
server: xp pro
Does cardspace popup the UAC before the application is shown.
No, not ask password
remark:
genuine windows allow install windows cardspace on XP

-
When the viewer is kicked? Does the viewer still show screen updates
No
and input is blocked or viewer look froozen ?
frozen but I'am able to use system menu of pchelpware_viewer
What do you see in the viewer title bar ?
Resetting security server

-If you manual close the viewer and reconnect, is he able to reestablish connection with the server ?

yes, but card space need closed first otherwise server unreachable

mv video hook driver2 enabled (driver)
remote desktop server enabled (except for XP home factory unavailable)
xp pro FUS enabled
xp home FUS enabled

xp pro server
FUS welcome screen = computer_name -- SYSTEM -- WIN PcHelpWare 1.1
logging on = remote control OK
logged user = remote control OK
logging off = remote control OK

xp home server
-- remote desktop server unavailable at factory --
FUS welcome screen = error: Server unreachable
logging on = None Applicable (N/A)
logged user = remote control OK
logging off = viewer frozen at "Resetting security server"

major bug only with mv video hook driver2 enabled
send win+L from viewer to server kill keyboard map of server.
(because going to local server, unable to input valid password to FUS logon)
solution... force logging off user and restart windows and lost work.

Thanks for testing...

All test i did where on XP Home. Normal, XP Home and pro need to act the same, there is no fundamental change in the OS that cause PcHelpware to behave different.

Looking at the results of the XP Home and service (server unreachable)

*Or the service didn't started mv.exe
*Or something is blocking mv.exe to access the network.
MV.exe started by service as user (computer_name - username OK )
MV.exe started as system (error: server unreachable ), mv.exe not started or network not reachable....

In my tests, Home worked the same way as you have for Pro.
Does the Home has another firewall as pro ?

cardspace is a WPF app ? so it is based on directx....
We cannot capture WPF application on XP.

physical computer or vmware computer guest xp home sp2 english ?

Could be related to language of OS ?
Source code may different effect between language OS bug ?
Because I have no issue to connect to vmware guest -- as computer_name -- SYSTEM -- xp home sp2 english

MV.exe started as system (error: server unreachable ), mv.exe not started or network not reachable....
I have checked on real computer xp home sp2 french,
services.msc
mv_service_a started automatic and logon as and interact with desktop.
maybe problem of network driver or some patch of XP
or
swisscom unlimited 1.6 driver. (I need to reload factory XP Home sp2 french without this software for EGPRS/GPRS/WLAN

Does the Home has another firewall as pro ?
both xp pro and home windows firewall disabled
only router have firewall, computers are on same subnet.

cardspace is a WPF app ? so it is based on directx....
I don't know but I know it block the local ctrl+alt+del while running cardspace... frozen all others application without any connection of pwh
I cannot check the short name of cardspace, I have no access to task manager (blocked by cardspace)

Sorry, perhaps the name is confusing....

This version is intend to test the new Vista service, and is no replacement
for the previous PCHelpware.

Keep it in mind to find a better name next time..;

XP pro sp2 english as guest vmware 5.5.4 vmware tools updated
mv.exe run as user SYSTEM cold start windws and then log on user.
mv.exe run as logged user after warm restart windows

xp home sp2 english as guest vmware 5.5.4 vmware tools updated
mv.exe run as logged user on cold start
mv.exe run as logged user after warm restart windows.
pchelpware_viewer crashed user32.dll right after welcome success and user log on.

icon should be green while viewer is connected to server.
I see only 1 time green color, I can't reproduce.

some time warm restart and try to logon on xp pro sp2 guest, unable to input to local and via remote while viewer connected to server.

pchelpware_LAN was used as test to build v103RC
Everything found in v103 will also exist in this test version...
No need to test this seperate, we need to focus in v103

I have a fat32 on my system and will verify what's happening, has to be some security settings.

Tested v103 and FAT32

The problem seems to be that when you connect to fast, the viewer lock.
I shared the FAT32 directory to be able to read the winvnc.log

But when you wait until the share can be mapped, you also can connect.

Killing the viewer ( taskmamager) and reconnect works on FAT32.

I shared the FAT32 directory to be able to read the winvnc.log
I never shared the folder UltraVNC where sit the winvnc.exe and never "Program Files"
uvnc should share the folder of ultravnc for XP FUS/Vista on next update ?

On FAT32 is seems to take a long time before the service start
winvnc.exe....

(for testing i mapped the winvnc folder and i could map it almost a minute after the logon appeared on the server PC)
I guess that the service also take this same amount of time before he become active.

When you connect the viewer before the service is ready, he keeps runnning (taskmanager)...

When you kill that viewer and reconnect it seems to work on FAT32...

This has nothing to do with sharing, i just used it as test to see when
service was started..

I'm unable to run windows cardspace UI through UltraVNC JavaViewer. The remote session disconnects abruptly the moment the cardspace UI is ablut to open. What might be the problem...? Thanks in Advance
