NETGEAR - I tried almost everything and I can't have access
Re: NETGEAR - I tried almost everything and I can't have acc
well you have to take this at a few steps.
1.) has to work locally on your lan before you can get it to work across the interenet.
If it will not work in your lan something is blocking ports.
Once you get that working then you can persue the internet connection.

Re: NETGEAR - I tried almost everything and I can't have acc
I did.
I have discovered that my router do not allow Loopback contrarily to what happened with my Atlantis Land WebShare 141 Router Modem.
So now I only have a big problem.
I can't test it from inside my house as I did before.
I always get 169.x.x.x while trying to use the router as Modem.
I can't avoid it.
Do you know how I can avoid 169.x.x.x to pop up?
I tried to install Repeater but I can't figure out how it work.
I'm not really into Lan/Wan...
BTW thank you for replying me.

Re: NETGEAR - I tried almost everything and I can't have acc
Is your network setup as
Modem -> Router -> Machines?
If so what Modem are you using? You will probably have to setup port-forwards and firewall rules there aswell.
Also, on the WAN Interface do you have a hostname setup i.e. using dynDNS?

Re: NETGEAR - I tried almost everything and I can't have acc
I have netgear's running UVNC with no issues... I am wondering why you are having so much grief..

Re: NETGEAR - I tried almost everything and I can't have acc
Hi! Cixi,
I try to understand your problem, but not sure 100% interpret your description correctly. Here are what I get:
1. Before you install the Netgear DGNB2100, your config is as below:
        ┌───────â”
         webshare  ----> [Laptop-1] ip=192.168.0.2
 Internet <-->  141    ----> [Laptop-2] ip=192.168.0.3
        └───────┘

  With this config., the VNC connection works fine between the two laptops.
2. Then you add the Netgear DGNB2100, connect as below:
        ┌───────â”     ┌──────â”
         webshare       Netgear   ----> [Laptop-1] ip=169.x.x.x
 Internet <-->  141    <----> DGNB210  ----> [Laptop-2] ip=169.x.x.x
        └───────┘     └──────┘

3. Or connect like this:
        ┌───────â”
         Netgear    ----> [Laptop-1] ip=169.x.x.x
 Internet <-->  DGNB210   ----> [Laptop-2] ip=169.x.x.x
        └───────┘
What is your new connection schematic when adding the Netgear router? 2. or 3.?
