What version of UltraVNC are you using? In rc19 one of them the file transfer was not working properly. Same holds true in RC18. Sometimes it works - depending on configuration -

Some basic qs-
Version -
OS's of host/server -
Firewalls on host/server enabled?
SP2 for XP on either? - this has proven to have some complications.

I would merely suggest that you try to do the file transfer locally on your lan, if that doesnt work I dont know why it would work over the Wan or Internet.

Since there are a multitude of ways to troubleshoot this I think this will help us in helping you.

Some basic qs-
Version -
>>RC19 (the about window says: v1.0.0 Test 19_9) build nov 26
OS's of host/server -
>>Win XP Pro
Firewalls on host/server enabled?
>>Host has firewall, port forwarded correctly (using deafult 5900)
SP2 for XP on either? - this has proven to have some complications
>>SP2 on each

I have also gotten the same error with the client being win 2k

for grins disable the XPSP2 Firewall, and see if it works.

and since I dont use / havent used 19_9 maybe one of the admins or devs can answer your question if it isnt the host / server firewall.

Have you tested this with two w2k machines?

Two win 2k - no
Disabling the firewall - can't do that...i need it to forward many other ports
Another reinstall allowed the LAN to file transfer, but not the Internet - would a proxy server on the client's side effect it? It was working before, I don't remember what version i was using, though
