Hi! (excuse for my English)
I get "Fail to connect to server"
I have a EU Starbridge Arethra modem/router.
I think I must correct the ip forwarding, but...
my public ip is (for example) 62.212.234.144
my private ip 10.0.0.5
so...
Public Port Private Port Port Type Host IP Address ?
5900 5905 TCP 10.0.0.5
I tryed many way (5900->5900, 5905->5905, 5900->5905) but don't work!!!
Please, help me!!!

WAN side to LAN side IP addressing
Hi,
I too am having a similar problem. I deal with various routers such as Netopia, Zyxel pretige. When indtalled the routers are assigned a static ip address of the router i.e. 192.168.1.1.
The problem is that for me to use UltraVNC I need to assign the WAN side IP address (which of course is dynamic).
How can this be done as the console for the routers doesnt have any facility where i can set an ip pass through which will assign my WAN side IP address instead of the LAN side IP address??
This is really casuing me some headaches!!!!
CAN SOMEONE ADVISE ON HOW BEST TO TACKLE THIS ISSUE!
Many thanks

bobflynn2000,
Does you router support Dynamic DNS? You may have a try to get one and using it instead of keying in fixed IP...
am,
have a look to check if it is useful for you...

Besides this, if you are using Windows in your VNC server, do check if you've opened the port in Windows' basic firewall.
Hence:
1. open ports on router's firewall
2. port forwarding
3. open ports on VNC server' firewall
