Ultravnc + Norton 360 v2

Post by gorlaz »

Hi Guys,

I've been using UltraVNC for a long time and have just installed Norton 360 v2 and am now getting an error 'WriteExact: Socket error while writing' error after I enter a username/password to connect to another PC.

I've seen the other threads on the forum but they basically say either disconnect the firewall or punch a hole in it.

I can't dc the firewall and I have punched a hole in it;

* target pc subnet has been allowed
* vncviewer.exe has all traffic allowed
* winvnc.exe has all traffic allowed.
* I've allowed port 5900 incoming/outgoing

None of these have made any difference. I even upgraded to 1.05 but has also not had an effect.

For anyone running Norton 360 v2 - what have you opened to use VNC?

Any help much appreciated.
