Sharing drives with VNC connected PCs

Post by DrVNC »

Hello all

I would like to be able to map a drive on the PC I am connecting to. Is that possible with VNC?

Ultimate goal is to be able to use directory comparison software to compare local folders to the remote PC.

thanks!

Hell I never tried setting up a smb share via uVNC but I guess same principles apply.

But map a network drive well you can do just about anything with uVNC except plug in stuff phisically on other PC... but you wont be able to monitor waht you want using uVNC...

Think of uVNC as a tool you use to an end and make sure its running with admin credentials

if you are doing this over public internet use openvpn or ssh tunnels, if you want to really just compare directories use rsync it works over http, ftp, ssh and almost everything possible...
