Hello Together,
we think about deploying UltraVNC on some hundred machines and i have in mind to also install the mirror driver on these machines (all WinXP, SP3).
In some threads they say that the mirror driver could cause some problems beginning from black screens (no video signal on the server machine) to the point of blue sceens.
Does anyone have experience with the mirror driver on hundreds of machines regarding operational disturbance and so on?
Should i better keep my hands off?
My problem is when UltraVNC is once deployed together with the mirror driver and we get massive problems we eventually can't go backwards so easily.

Re: video driver and stability
The mirror driver is stable, but we can not garantie that there are no
incompatibility's with real video drivers.
Ati and nvidia should work without trouble, some third party drivers that
does some directx benchmark on startup fail....
BSOD: mv2 doesn't have this issue. Memory we use is protected over
a "memory mapped file", a little slower but prevent BSOD.
Driver is in many cases not needed, only usefull for fast updates (media player) or apps that make have use of graphics.
When vnc is not connected, driver is inactive and doesn't have influence.
When a viewer is connected, the driver is active: Just take care, mirror drivers disable hardware acceleration while active.
Install vnc + driver
Driver is not auto installed, it has to be done manual.
In case when you need it, you can run install.bat from vnc
If you set vnc not to use the driver, you even can uninstall it from vnc.

Re: video driver and stability
Hello Rudi,
thank you for your quick answer.
Your explanation is enough for me.
I'll deploy UltraVNC together with the mirror driver.
