Starting winvnc with psexec

Post by franc »

Hello,
i try to start winvnc in my local network with psecex, but it doesn't work.

I have on my PC 192.168.0.150 and my Notebook has 192.168.0.30
On both UltraVNC 1.04 is installed but on the notebook not as a service.
If i start on the notebook C:\Program Files\UltraVNC\winvnc.exe manually i can connect with my PC without problems. But if i start winvnc with psexec from my PC (i get a console to the notebook without problems):

> psexec \\192.168.0.30 -u myself -p mistery cmd

and now "on" the notebook (via psexec) in the UltraVNC-Directory i do:

C:\Program Files\UltraVNC>winvnc

winvnc.exe starts on the notebook, but without binding to Ports 5900, 5800 (i checked the ultravnc.ini), so i cannot connect. If i write a batchfile on the notebook, which launches winvnc, and i start this with psexec, then i get bindings, but if i connect, i can read "Password accepted" and after that my viewer stops and i have no connection as well

If i do:

C:\Programme\UltraVNC>winvnc -install

same thing. BUT if i do that last thin three times, then suddenly the service gets installed and i can connect!

And i can start and stop the service with:

psservice \\192.168.0.30 -u myself -p mistery start uvnc_service

and easily kill with:

pskill \\192.168.0.30 -u myself -p mistery winvnc

How can i connect without installing a service, and if with service, why only after three attemts? Does anybody knows?

Regards, franc
