Standby and WakeUp question

Post by serge1862 »

Hi All!

I've looked around forums, but wasn't able to find a good way of 'waking-up' a computer, so after it's awake, i can connect with UltraVNC.

I'm currently able to get on the network using OpenVPN, and then i need to 'wake-up' the computer, and connect to it using UVNC.

So far, only solution i've found was to use Wake-On-Lan, but it's kind of a pain to use... (haven't been able to use it successfully).

Is there any other solutions for waking up computer to use with UVNC on the network?

Thanks in advance!
-Serge

Bit late for the original poster, but might be useful to have on record: I wrote a fairly detailed description of how to use Wake on LAN on Wikipedia. This should help. The current version of the article may have been improved; on the other hand maybe someone has replaced it withkindergarten rudery, so my last revision is
