The plugin is unchanged.

It creates both an encrypted and a non-incripted listener shortcut so be sure to run the encrypted one. if you did and it still isn't working, try re-installing or re-creating the customer module.

First, 1.8.9.0 is absolutely fine. Thanks for that. That said, re your questions:

The temporary folder can sometimes get locked by the OS but should be removed after a reboot. I'll do some testing to see if it's broken.

Hi Advantig,

The new release of OneClick does not support UAC (Vista).
When it prompts the UAC on the remote user screen the connection will be lost.

Thanks, it does but it depends on user settings that aren't being checked on the current version. I will update it and upload a fix in a couple of hours.

Hi Phil,

It doesn’t work first the program asks for this question:

User Access Control (UAC) is turned off, this may cause problems running many applications as well as this program. It is recommended to turn UAC on before continuing.

Do you want to continue? Yes, No

I am answering “Yes” then the next question pops up:

User Access Control (UAC) could not be temporarily set to quiet mode.

Do you want to try again? Yes, No

Here I answer “Yes” again but the same question pops up again.

Is it possible to make the questions changeable? So I can change them to Swedish.

Thanks

Did you enable UAC in the control panel before continuing?

I'll add configurable text in v2.0

Hi again Phil,

The UAC is on. So something is wrong I think. It works before the vista improvements.

Some other wishes

It’s a small thing but enjoying. Can you set administrator rights on the “Create a customer Module” Shortcut as default? (If the shortcuts not have the administrator rights it does not have the rights to create the oneclick.exe in the end.)

Another thing that should be good is if you could make a option in v2.0 there I can choose if I want to have the icons on the remote computers desktop or not. (Icons = Stop Remote Support, 1cToolBox, Tools.url).

Thanks
keep up the good work!

/Christopher

(I am using Vista SP1)

Yep, there was a problem... too many hours programming making me cross-eyed. I reversed the test for the UAC, it thinks it's on when it's off and off when it's on. I'll fix it.

It's updated, will still give prompt if UAC is not set to quiet mode for any reason (Spybot or other program blocks registry writes, etc).

You'll have to download it manually, I didn't change the version number.

Hi Phil,

Good work now I only get this question as you say:

User Access Control (UAC) could not be temporarily set to quiet mode.
Do you want to try again? Yes, No

It must be a way to fix it :D

How did you fix this in the versions before? When the screen turn black for 1 sec and then the UAC was turn off?

Thanks

It's still doing the same attempt to disable it but now it checks to see if it was, if not it tells you it wasn't disabled iinstead of saying nothing. It also tries to set it so the prompt doesn't kill the connection.

Does it still kick you off during a UAC prompt?

Hi Phil,

It's the same problem as before it still kicks me out when the prompt comes up on the remote desktop.

Can't you do like before when it worked?

That part of the code has not changed, it is the same as it has been. Did you try your old customer module?

Hi Phil,

Version 1.8.8.5 – This version works prefect with the UAC.

Version 1.8.8.6 – From this version all problem starts the program no longer set administrators rights on the Shortcuts Create Customer Module and Check for Updates. So if I start the Create Customer Module shortcut without administrator rights it doesn’t create the Oneclick.exe file on the end.

In this version the UAC problem starts and have been to the latest version 1.8.8.8. Aren’t there some Vista improvements in this release? Maybe they have changed something.

Version 1.8.8.8 – The UAC seems to work. But the shortcuts don’t have the admin rights like they had in version 1.8.8.5.

Version 1.8.9.0 – 1.8.9.2 Here the UAC problem starts again. But the shortcuts don’t have the admin rights like they have in version 1.8.8.5

Thanks

Thanks for the detailed information. I'll look through to see what each change was and try to get a patch. I'm going to be taking next week off to clear my head a little. I've been working on the OSX port and it's fried my brain. It's part UltraVNC and part Chicken of the VNC (we refer to it as UltraChicken) lol...

Just waiting for the official release of UVNC 105 before I do the final winvnc conversion to SingleClick. I've had the rc15ac based version running non-stop on multiple Vista and XP machines (with viewers constantly connected the entire time) for over 2 weeks and haven't found any problems but there may be some bugs that still need fixing that I'm not aware of as I don't use the video driver, hook.dll or ms logon.

Estimated release date is posted on the OneClick forum.

Hi Phil...

Yes it’s working now! =)

One more thing can you take away the pop up question (User Access Control(UAC) is turned off, this may cause problems running many applications as well as this program. It is recommended to turn UAC on before continuing. Do you want to continue? Yes No) there the user must press yes for the UAC to be turn off. It should automatic answer yes for the user like before (It’s an annoying question).

Thanks!

Hi!

I've been going through all the data on all the pages of this topic but since the developement is so fast, I kinda lost track of it, so my questions should be pretty simple.

First of all, can I change the icon of the file the Creator makes, would like to make it a bit unique, but i don't see any .ico file with that icon on it, maybe it's integrated into the Creator aswell.

Secondly, about the Goodbye and Startup. When I start my exe file, it will post me the disclamer (the original one, in english), then it will ask for my password and then it will post the startup message I modified in the startup.txt file. With the Goodbye.txt, it will only show the one written in english, but not the one I made on my own.
As i saw, the logo cannot be modified if I haven't bought the product, but can the startup and goodbye text be modified so that I can post them in my native language?

Same goes for the toolbox that shows me my session time etc, can it be fully altered to make it in another language?

Thanks for the responce and sorry if this has been debated before.

You can edit the icon.dll file in the SC Source folder with ResourceHacker in the commercial version.

The Goodbye.txt can be changed in the commercial version but not in the free version since it advises the customer they cannot be charged as it is for non-commercial use only.

The timer is in english only at this point but it's programmed in unicode to make it multi-language capable in the future.

The english UAC messages will be removed in the next version. It was supposed to be remove in the last update but I forgot.

Version 1.8.9.5

- Removed the "UAC is disabled" warning (multiple users requested it).
You will no longer get the warning so if the performance is
extremely slow or encryption does not work, disconnect then
have the customer enable UAC and re-run the customer module.

I am having problems connecting to my in-house Vista test machine using an encrypted connection.

"Error reading protocol version" Possible cause: you have forgotten to select a DSM...

I am using encryption on all connections.

In-house XP machines OK. Even had two remote Vista connections today. They did not have that problem (did have others - not disconnecting even though said it had, Stop sign not leaving desktop, not rebooting, empty 1Ctools folder on desktops, uac not re-enabled)

Was trying to troubleshoot these issues when I discovered problem #1.

Using 1.8.9.4 and .5
