Can't connect if the Windows session is locked on remote PC
Can't connect if the Windows session is locked on remote PC
Hi,
Probably not a bug, must be a setting problem...
I experience the same problem with UltraVNC V15 and V16 on many different Win2000 PCs.
If the Windows session is unlocked on the remote PC, I can take the control of it with UVNC and every thing works OK. As soon as the Windows session is locked on the remote PC,(timeout or closing the VNC connection), I can't connect again with VNC. If I unlock the Windows session directly on the remote PC, I can connect again with Ultra VNC.
Any hint on the solution?
Thanks.

you are not doing anything wrong. I get the same effect. I have installed the uvnc multiple time and I get this same issue.
It's a different "window station" (say "terminal" for less technical users). Therefore maybe UVNC does not handle exactly this Window Station and Desktop???

is the problem, it doesnt accept your password, or it doesnt connect (before checking password, ie. times out)
if the first then paperjam is probably right,
if it just times out, then, are you running in service mode?
and, canadianguy, (and anyone else..) you might want to try a newer version then 15 or 16.
(oh wow, his post is from back in may. there might not have been a newer version then. if thats true, then nm about that)

using latest code.... always... except when im not.
Timeout, then locked up.
I think I have the same problem. If I open a session and then leave it for some time (hours) and come back the session is no longer active. When I atempt to reopen the connection the client hangs on "attempt to negotiate protocol" and just sits there.
