Can't get NAT to NAT connection to work...

Post by seniormoments »

I can get every computer to connect with UltraVCN within my local network . But I am bamboozled on trying to figure out how to do it over the net through NAT's...

I've tried both the NSC/NVC pair and the natconnect_viewer/natconnect_server pair. Neither one ever connects.

The first one never goes to yellow and the second never goes to "PAL Online..."

I've read all the FAQ's and no help. What am I missing???

I've never used NSC/NVC so I can't help you with that, but if your on a network where you have access to router, you need to set up port forwarding.

Hmmm. My understanding was that the natconnect server/viewer were supposed to make all that transparent to you. It made all the transitions through the two routers seamlessly using the Nat Helper.
If I set up port forwarding then you really don't need the natconnect server/viewer, right? :(

But I'm really trying to get the NAT Help client/servers to work. Can anyone help there?

no, NH stopped was experimental !
NAT Helper (NH) work only with 2 separate network client and server for both computers are with NAT router (nor strong firewall outgoing filter)

testing 2 computers client and server over same workgroup in house over NAT router fail.

Sorry, but can it therefore be taken off the list of Addons? I have found this thread because I was trying to work out exactly what a NAT Helper was, and now I find it doesn't work.

Thanks redge.

You do so much work here, I thought you may have the attention of somebody's ear <G>.

I'm not being smart. I appreciate all your input.
