I opened ports 5900 and 5901 on my router, but VNC is still blocked. I have to use the "Low" setting (not necessarily "Off") in order to let VNC through. Is there something else I need to open besides 5900 and 5901?
I opened 5901 because I'm using port forwarding to find a second computer.

Firewall Ports ??
Re: Firewall Ports ??
Do you have software firewall(s) running? You may have to tell that to let 5900 through.
I found that at some stage Win Firewall had restarted itself. I use another FW, so that tricked me for a while.

Re: Firewall Ports ??
There is NO software firewall installed. There is only the firewall on the DSL router.
Ports 5900 and 5901 are open, but VNC is still blocked.

Re: Firewall Ports ??
Also, I opened 5800 and 5801 for good measure. Still no dice.

Re: Firewall Ports ??
The user reads the IP address from the DSL router.
I use port forwarding on the router. Port 5901 gets forwarded to 5900 on one machine, while 5900 goes straight through to another machine.
If I lower the firewall, then all of this works perfectly well.
