SC for VISTA for DUMMIES

I am not really much of an IT support guy but some time ago I spent a good deal of time working out how to create a customised Single Click file. The instructions are much better now. I have been using it to help people involved in a family history project. We are all volunteers and they are not usually very computer savvy and so SC has been perfect - although even the process of taking it from an email has often proved to be a difficult task.

Anyway, I have just started to run into problems now that people have Vista installed. Our reliance on SC has become rather apparent.

So, I had a look through some of the big thread about Vista compatibility. I'm afraid that it is a bit beyond me. It seems that between everyone involved it is now working. Is that correct? Does it work with Vista and XP or do I need to use two different versions? Has anyone put together some instructions for creating it, so that even people like me can manage to do it?
