another SSL question

Post by carebear »

Hi everybody.

I am using the linux repeater version 007 (ssl version) and was wondering
if the SSL be used to prevent unauthorized access to the repeater's ports?

thanks

I did not understand your question exactly... .
do you want do protect your repeater from outside users?
AFAIK you can limit the Range of the used IP's!

windows repeater can filter with ID number,
don't know if their added this feature to linux repeater.

for filter by ip,
you can use third party software from Linux NAT/firewall filter, don't need to be a part of repeater. so you can filter any software and any port and ip.

ipfirewall
iptable
ipcop,
etc...
