Listen mode and Windows Task Scheduler

Post by ooggydoggy »

I am new to Ultra VNC, but have used Real VNC for some time. I use windows task scheduler on my work pc (behind a firewall)to try to connect to my home listening computer every 5 minutes. At home I just start viewer in listen mode and wait for the connection. It worked fine in Real VNC 4 Server, as I had the option to tell it not to share and replace the old connection with each new connection attempted by my work computer.

Here is my problem, task scheduler still tries to connect every 5 minutes even thou I am already connected. With Ultra VNC Server I don't seem to have the option to automaticly kill the first connection when the next one connects. I then get 2 connections on the home computer which causes the listen viewer at home to not respond (on both connections). Home is XP Pro, work is 2000. Anyone have a solution? Thanks

sorry if you feel bad, but i think the problem is in the way you use VNC.
why did you have to try "winvnc -connect" every 5 minutes...

Doesn't (ultra)winVNC -connect not timeout if not connected? I don't run Listen mode on the viewer end until I want to connect, with nothing to connect to RealVNC version would time out. Thanks for any help or suggestions
