MS Logon + AD on W2000

Post by stephane »

It's just a post to submit a workround about some strange problems with MS logon and Active Directory.

On some computer, VNC crash when we use some basic user to connect ( but not when we use administrator).

VNC Setup provide "Ms logon test utility" on the server side. It displays all steps for validation.
Very usefull.

We use it and we have a Dr Watson when it try to access to the active directory. But we have noticed that it makes successfull query on LDAP interface on Active Directory.

We have simply delete the DLL authad.dll from the vncfolder.

vnc don't find it (and don't crash) and validate the user connection request with LDAP query!!

Thanks for your input :)
The workaround you describe is related to the "old" ms-logon.
Once the "new" ms-logon is stable I plan to integrate the "old" ms-logon functionality into the new ms-logon.
I think about making it configurable, so that you can choose which authentication method is used.
