Viewer Crashes

Post by f0gax »

Server:
2000 SP4
1.0.0 RC18
RC18 Video driver installed

Viewer:
XP SP1
1.0.0 RC18
RC18 video driver installed

I've had these problems with many VNc's before and have had no luck getting any resolution.

1. The session will "freeze" at randon intervals and not respond ever. I have to end the VNC session and restart to get back.
2. The session will end for what appears to be no good reason.

On the server side the logs don't show anything.
On the viewer side here are the last few lines of the log:

5 8
encoding 16
encoding 16
6 8
encoding 16
encoding 16
rdr::Exception (1): rdr::Exception: ZlibInStream: inflate failed

Obviously the last line is where the failure occurs. No one anywhere has been able to solve this as far as I can tell.

I have a Linksys firewall. What little I can find on Google shows that people with this problem also run Linksys firewalls.

Any thoughts? Thanks.

Please try RC19

There where some changes on packet size (for Wireless routers), possible the behaviour is also better on other
routers.

Without the changes , the router sometimes did a reset.

Thanks. I'll try that and come back with the results.

No change with RC19.

And now it appears that logging on the viewer for Rc19 is broken. I set the -logfile and -loglevel options and all it does is create the file. Nothing is ever written to the file. Even with loglevel set to 10.
