Sooooo slooooow!

Post by Joshisimo »

Just wondering if someone can help me shed some light on what might be causing this problem...

I'm using Single-Click (SC) to allow users to log me onto their computers. Everything works great...with one exception.

There are 2 computers running Vista on a network connected to the internet via DSL. I can log onto both computers with SC just fine. But the connection is soooo slow. I can wait 5 or 10 seconds between each click. I try to refresh the screen manually and it doesn't seem to speed anything up. It takes me forever to acomplish a few simple tasks...very frustrating.

I ran a test from SpeedTest.net and the result was: Download 5,131 kb/s and Upload 651 kb/s.

Do you think the problem is the internet connection? Vista? Any advice you could offer would be much appreciated...

Josh

The offical SC is not compatible with Vista. Some users had provided their solution to solve this problem. One of the solution can be found in the thread [topic=11485]SC + Vista Compatibility - WORKING!!!!!![/topic].

Another alternative is switching to PcHelpWare.

Does this slow behaviour on Windows VISTA also manifest iteself using the repeater, rather than SC? My XP SP2 was fine, Vista is really slow.

The Tips for Speeding up VISTA\ XP in the FAQ appear to only pertain to speeding up the OS, not the UVNC experience. Any tips for that?
