SC I/II/III ?? I am really, really, really confused.

Post by thedarkener »

I've been using SC for a long time - I built an .exe about 3 years ago and have been using it since - but, like many people have noticed, the older versions don't work well with Vista.

Question: What is the best candidate for building a SC .exe for Win2k, XP, 2k3 Server, AND Vista clients, for use with a Linux repeater in mode II? Encryption would be preferable but not absolutely necessary.

Another question, hopefully not thought of as flaimbait: Why all the different versions? Also, the ultravnc website doesn't do a very good job at categorizing/explaining them all, and I just end up at the forums with 10-15 sticky posts, with OT replies, and I say to myself "Ugh, I'll just stick with mine, not too many people have Vista yet". But that is changing.

I would truly recommend a re-vamp of the SC section of this website so information is more central (maybe a wiki?) and less confusing to people looking to utilize this truly awesome add-on. I can't tell you how many people I have used SC *love* it (obviously if you're reading this you understand the power of it too).

Cheers!
