How to do port forward when system is across 2 routers...

Post by ashokr »

Hi

I have the following setup. When i portforward to just one hop away it works.

I have

DSL ROUTER-> Internal Wired Router (linksys)->system(vnc)

i setup port 5900/5900 to forward to linksys ip assigned by DSL router.

say.

192.168.1.1------>192.168.1.47/192.168.3.1-------> 192.168.3.101

i setup for dsl to route 5900 to 192.168.1.47, then on linksys setup the route to 192.168.1.101

is this the right setup? It doesnt seem to work. When system is on 1.1 network i can come from external to that system. Any idea how i can use/setup the reapeater? will that help?

thanks
ashok
