Hi there,
I hope, there is anyone able to help me fixing my problem.
A while ago I configured SC and it works very fine for nearly a year, even on Vista (mostly). Now, I changed my computer hardware and have done a completely new software installation. After that works, SC failed for connections, without any error message. Tested with ver. 1.0.2 and 1.0.4RC14.
For information:
My computer works behind a NAT (router). Ports are open and forwarded to my computer with fixed IP (same settings as before, no changes).
OS is WinXP Pro SP2, with working XP Firewall. Ports are open.
VNC Viewer is listening at the right port.
Dynamic DNS is in use and IP will be actualized by the router (function tested = o.k.).
In other words, everything looks fine, but it won't work.
Personal information:
I'm a network engineer (CNE and MCSE), so I should know what I do on the network level, but after 3 days of work, I've got no idea what to do else.
Every hint is welcome!

No Connection After HW Change...
Re: No Connection After HW Change...
I will first verify if the viewer can hear signal from internet. With the viewer running, visit https://www.grc.com/x/portprobe=5500 (assume using the default port). Does the port status detected to be opened?

@ YY
Thanks for your post.
I followed the link with viewer running on port 5500, as requested. As result I got the folowing "Info Message" in the VncViewer Message Box:
Connection failed - Error reading Protocol Version
Possible causes:
- You've forgotten to select a DSMPlugin and the Server uses a DSMPlugin
Because of this result I've checked all port settings again and I find my own mistake!
I also use VNC Server on this computer and I misconfigured my local firewall. I don'n was aware that I used a single, non-default port for all VNC connections with my former computer. Now, after installing the new one I use the same non-default port for VNC Server connection, but an other non-default port for SC connetions. Unfortunally I have opend the non-default ports for VNC Server and SC connections at the local firewall, but the port for the SC connection not set to active status (no check mark), at the router both ports has been forwarded.
PROBLEM SOLVED!
The cause of this problem was a missing communication port documentation, but I'll fix this.
Thank you for your "kickstart", somtimes only a little hint will help to solve a problem.
Best regards
